I’m in France, which means I’m back on my quest for the best fresh markets. Here’s one of the slightly off-the-beaten-track fresh markets you’ll find in gorgeous Montpellier. Keep an eye out, in particular, for the artichoke spread!
How to get there
The market is in the Antigone neighborhood of Montpellier, just east of the center. Address: 515 Bd d’Antigone.
When to go
The market is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7:30 to 13:00.
What to expect
There’s a small cluster of vendors indoors and another cluster outdoors. You’ll find fresh fruits and veggies, meats, cheeses, yogurt, other dairy products, a bakery, spreads, honey, and more!

French! Though you will certainly find multi-lingual people here.
