Merry Christmas From Switzerland – With Vegan Food & Carols

by Gigi Griffis

In my long tradition of never doing anything the normal way, this year’s Christmas was celebrated on Christmas Eve in a small, beautifully lit Swiss town. It also turned into a girls’ night, with three women from different cultures, and giant piles of fresh, tasty vegan food (who even knew vegan sushi was this amazing?).

paste

walnuts

carrots

fries uncooked

fries

sushi vegetarian

christmas

candles

Christmas decorations

In all, a really beautiful little celebration.

And, since it’s Christmas, I thought perhaps I’d give you all a little gift – from me to you across miles and oceans. Two Christmas Carols sung from the warmth of my little Croatian studio just before I was invited back to Switzerland to continue my visa-getting process.

I hope they make you smile:

Hi Gigi,
You have a beautiful voice and I enjoyed the carols. Is the picture of the living room where you are staying in Switzerland? It looks lovely. As always thanks for sharing.

Thanks – and yes: this is my current home, a place people lovingly call The Fairy House because it feels magical.

I have always admired vegans for their discipline but thought it far too difficult to maintain… until I read this post – what a fest!

Yeah. I still don’t think I could go vegan myself, but my roommate has totally blown my mind with her incredibly creative and tasty vegan cooking. I’m definitely more open to vegan eating than ever before.

Wonderful blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News. Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Many thanks
