Where to Stay in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia: A Review
Welcome back to Beautiful Spaces—a series of posts in which I talk about the apartments, hotels, hostels, & B&Bs I stay in during my travels. It all started in 2013 when I realized that my contentment on the road is directly connected to how much I love where I’m living…and so made a commitment to find beautiful spaces to call home along the way. The owners of this lovely apartment were kind enough to extend a discount in exchange for this review. As always, all opinions are my own.
For me, our place in Kranjska Gora was love at first sight.
A chalet built into the hill looking down on the lake, the place was made up of a cozy top floor with a master bedroom, a full bathroom, and a spare room with two twin beds.
The lower floor was home to a gorgeous, inviting living room with a bright orange corner couch and several glass doors leading out to an open patio overlooking the lake and mountains. A wood-burning stove kept us warm on the chilly nights of early fall. A lovely, spacious, modern kitchen stretched out to the back of the house with every cooking utensil a girl (or guy) could want. And another half bath was a nice addition that let me have my own getting-ready-in-the-morning space.
Finally, one more floor down was a spacious mud room with a washing machine, heater, and a perfect area for storing our bikes.
And our hosts? They stole our hearts right from the start by leaving us a jar of homemade cookies and another jar of homemade apricot jam.
In short, we were immediately and completely smitten with everything about the place. The sweet tart jam, the sweeping green views, the walk around the lake, the skylit master bedroom, the incredible spacious kitchen. This is exactly the kind of place we wanted to spend my September vacation.
And I’d most definitely recommend it if you’re considering your own Slovenian Alpine adventures.
When you’re ready to book, here’s the listing. Tell them I sent you.
