Excellent lunch near Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est, Paris: Chocho

Sardines dish at Chocho Paris

Michelin-recommended with good reason, this cute, modern restaurant serves up a tapas-style menu with creative flare. Order a handful of dishes to share, grab a crisp white wine from Alsace, mop up the incredible sauce on the quail dish with homemade bread, and don’t miss out on the chocolate pine dessert (honestly, if you ever see anything on a menu with pine, order it; I’ve never been disappointed).

Bon appetite!

Address: 54 Rue de Paradis

Online booking.

Hours: 12:00 to 14:00 and 19:00 to midnight every day.

Price range: Dishes cost between 15 and 40 euros each. For two people (three dishes, two desserts), sans wine, we had a very nice meal for 100 euros.

Dog friendly? Yes! Luna was with me and it was no problem. If you are reserving with a dog, it’s always nice to give them a head’s up so that they can seat you somewhere with space for the dog (rather than a table in a high-traffic spot where there’s danger of being kicked).
