Exploring Unspunnen Castle, Interlaken

On our last week in Interlaken, before we boarded trains and then planes to Italy and then Georgia, we made our way to yet another castle ruin that I’d had no idea was here.

This time, the destination was Unspunnen Castle in Wilderswil, about a 30-minute walk south of our apartment.

If you know me, you know I love castles and ruins, so you’ll probably have guessed that this was one of my favorite recent finds in the area.

Hi Gigi: The castle pics caught my eye in my email notification of your The Ramble. I’ve been so busy the last six months I haven’t had time to browse your blog in a long while, but wanted to tell you the pictures are fabulous. I know I will never make it to Switzerland (can no longer stand long plane trips and I live 4 hours from the nearest airport), but I love that someone so young is doing all you have been. I’m sure it’s not always pleasant, but you are young enough to go with the flow. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences on The Ramble.
