This pretty French valley town is the setting for my 2024 book about the unsolved mystery of the Beast of Gevaudan. So, of course, at the end of my nine-day hike through the region, I had to spend a little time exploring the nooks and crannies, hills and riverside paths, museums and tucked-away creperies of the town of Mende.
