Travel + Inspirational Link Round Up, September

Photo: Denver, Colorado.

From time to time, I get emails or comments asking me what resources I recommend, what products I use, or where people can find more of my writing. I used to do monthly link round-ups, but they honestly didn’t get a lot of attention, so I let them drop off. Since I’ve been getting more questions lately, I thought I’d start them up again. A list of articles, blogs, ideas, rentals, and other stuff I love or wrote once per month on the last Sunday of the month. What do you think?

This month’s roundup…

Awesome packing hacks (I use many of these, myself).

Want to work remotely? This site ranks cities around the world for you.

When this post goes live, I’ll be in Spain. I’m staying somewhere super simple and cheap, but holy crap do I wish I was staying somewhere more interesting. Like this container home or this treehouse.

Speaking of tree houses: holy gorgeous.

I never get tired of this mystical countryside Flickr feed.

Warning: These photos might make you want to live on a sailboat.

How to support the bloggers you love. (Fantastic ideas, many of which won’t cost you a penny!)

This indie author (who gave a great interview here on the site early this month) has some amazing ideas for evening and weekend adventures. (I bought his book and love it.)

Have questions about travel, writing, being an expat, and all that jazz? I answered a bunch of reader questions in this five-minute Q&A video. And then again in this second one.

I’m starting to line up my Switzerland interviewees. Do you live in Switzerland, love showing people around your town, and want to appear in the next 100 Locals guide? Get in touch!

Two days left to enter to win a free cooking class for two in the Italian countryside. Just buy my Italy guide here on the site to enter (and if you buy it in print, email me so that I can add your email to the entry list.)

The most popular posts in August + September were Ask a Local: What Should I Do/See/Eat in Verona, Italy? and How Much Does It Cost to Spend a Month in Paris?

What do you think of having a monthly travel link roundup on the last Sunday of every month? Love it? Hate it? Don’t care at all? Let me know in the comments.

P.S. Did I mention that Barcelona hit the top-25 for its category on Amazon this month? And Paris hit top-100. So exciting!
