Travel + Inspirational Link Round Up, March Edition

by gigigriffis

Well, hey there, friends! Another month is almost gone. How has it been for you? I’ve been doing a lot of writing, networking, and eating here in NYC. Can’t believe we’ve already been here a month.

Anyhoo, you’re here for links…here’s the best of what I found online lately:

Budget time! How much does it cost to spend a month in Bali?

Related: my real budgets for 5.5 years on the road.

If you have been reading awhile, you probably already know that I work a structured part-time schedule, try to spend Fridays fully offline, and dedicate a whole day each week to my creative projects. My colleague Eileen does something similar, but she’s been doing it three times as long. Recently, she shared her mindset.

Here’s an answer for anyone worried about terrorism in Europe (hint: you shouldn’t be).

(Related: No, Europe is Not Dangerous. Yes, You Should Visit.)

Abandoned towns near Rome (you guys know how much I love abandoned stuff).

Speaking of abandoned stuff, this is on my New York wish list. (Also, this.)

Food for thought –> “At a time when Etsy shops and craft fairs and food trucks are decidedly mainstream, every domestic hobby is at risk of becoming a side hustle.”

Unrelated, but, hey, I updated my pretty pretty portfolio site.

Finally, if you grew up in the 80s and 90s in a Christian home, this might make you chuckle (or, if the thought of someone poking fun at pastors who told their congregations to be scared of Rainbow Bright offends you, feel free to move along):
