It happened unexpectedly. And it was like having a middle school crush. I mean, still is.
I met her in a small pet store in the fancy mall down south. I was looking for information on Yorkies and Schnauzers, as those were the breeds I’d also liked the idea of owning. When the pet shop worker–Bob–said these magical words: “what about a schnorkie?”
It turns out there’s such a thing as a Schnauzer Yorkie mix. And it’s the recipe for the world’s cutest puppy. She has the build (and habits!) of a Schnauzer and the lovely brown and black coloring of a Yorkie. As you can see above, obviously.
So they brought her out for me to look at and I fell instantly and desperately in love. That kind of desperate love that you feel the first time you fall. The I’ll-do-anything-for-you version.
And I had to have her. No matter what it took. What it took being one week, a new apartment, some negative people, some positive people, some days of feeling ill and two times cleaning up accidents so far.
And so here is Luna. Mine and precious and lovely and beloved. And fierce. Oh so fierce. Killer of boxes and towels and small squeaky things and pajamas.
