In between my lease in Perugia and my lease in Paris, Luna and I had two nights to kill. One night would be spent on an overnight train between the two cities. And the other night I spent cozied up in a friend’s guest bed enjoying the bright, warm, lofty apartment.
My friend currently lives here, but in the coming months, she plans to start renting the place out. I don’t know all the details, but I do know these things: 1) the place is in the center of town, less than a five minute walk from the iconic fontana maggiore, where all the locals and students sit or meet on sunny days and nice evenings; 2) the apartment is larger than the spaces I rented and would be perfect for a family or group, with two bedrooms, a spacious living area and an open kitchen; and 3) my friend has really simple, beautiful decorating tastes. There are books along the walls, a hearty dark wood desk in the guest room, a stump that’s been converted into an end table, exposed brick pillars, and dark beamed ceilings.
It’s really, really lovely.
