A Little Wisdom from Belgium

by gigigriffis

A Belgian man: Darling, however much I wanted to, I would be afraid to ask you out, because you do not need me.

A wise Belgian woman: What do you mean, I don’t need you? I need you to be my friend. I need you to hold me after a long day. I need you to listen. I need you to love me. I may own a house and a business, I may travel the world, I may be an independent woman, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need you.

need or want? I prefer want … :)
Same conversation … but her response is want … not need. That would make it perfect in my eyes.

I concur with “want”.
