Happy almost-June, friends!

How was your month? Ours was spent in pretty, fairy-tale Mostar eating local sausages, making daily smoothies with local produce, and cycling around town now that it’s warming up.

I’ve also started planning for an epic summer here in Bosnia. My lovely friend Ali is coming to visit and Chad and I have been invited to spend a couple nights in a stunning farm-stay in the mountains, so it’s shaping up to be a really wonderful summer.

Before I dive into this week’s links, a question for you (please drop your answer in the comments): I’ve been mulling over some new ideas for the blog. Would you be interested in reading about either of the following:

:: My novel writing and editing process

:: The nitty gritty of freelancing (what to include in contracts, how to find new clients)

Let me know what you think!

And now…to the inspiring, travely, interesting links…

Freelancing, entrepreneurship, & opportunities around the world:
:: Cool gig alert: travel/accommodation photographers wanted for Booking.com all over the world.

:: Also: Italy is giving away free castles for those interested in turning them into restaurants, hotels, etc. If that’s your dream, now’s your moment. Also, you should totally invite me to your grand opening.

:: Reminder: How Do Travel Bloggers Make Money?

Financials, budgets, & saving:
:: How This 28-Year-Old Retired With $2.25 Million

:: Related: Why your house is a terrible investment.

:: Reminder: travel doesn’t have to be expensive. How Much Do Digital Nomads Spend Per Month?

Travel & lifestyle links:
:: Two and a half minutes of peace and beauty.

:: 7 Things You Can Do This Year to Be More Awesome. (I love this.)

:: Get ready to laugh and then cry: You can’t get on a plane with leggings…but this is totally okay?

:: I know Colombia gets a lot of good press, but here’s a reminder: “safer than 10 years ago” does not mean actually safe.

:: Love reading about epic weddings and love stories? Here’s something beautiful.

:: Oldie-but-goodie here on the blog: Ask a Local: What Should I Do/See/Eat in Interlaken, Switzerland?

Books!:
:: I’ve been reading some middle grade and YA fiction lately and I stumbled across this gem: The School for Good and Evil. If you or your teen (or pre-teen) are looking for a great read, it is delightful.

:: Another book that’s wowed me recently: Big Little Lies.

Thanks for the links, as always! Love the Grand Canyon video and the JL Collins article on houses. :)
I’d be interested in reading more about the novel-writing process!

I would love to hear about your novel writing process! As a good expository writer but mediocre creative writer, I’d love to hear about it.
