Hey there, friends. How’s life? What did you get up to this April? I’ve been spending most of my free time working on the first draft of my second novel, planning for upcoming May conferences and events, and reading like crazy. We’re also daydreaming about getting back to Europe, but no concrete plans yet.

But enough updates. You’re here for links.

Here’s the best of what I’ve found online recently:

First: a good reminder to lift each other up.

Next up: a gorgeous essay about New Orleans.

YESSSS –> Talking About Money Is a Gift to Everyone Around You.

Speaking of money: How much does it cost to take a family to Hawaii?

Also, in case you missed it: How Much Does It Cost to Spend a Month in NYC?

This scaredy-cat bulldog is the cutest thing ever.

For the writers among us, this is the best writing craft book I’ve ever read.

For the readers among us, this is the best novel I’ve read so far this year.

Unrelated: In the heated debates about gun control, what does actual science have to say?

Finally: This piece on adventures gone wrong made me laugh so hard.
“So we spent a vacation that was supposed to be an epic outdoor adventure playing cards in a hotel lobby and eating chocolate from the gift shop, while fellow tourists looked out the window at wet rocks and speculated as to whether they were bears.”
