• Seven Shots: From Italia to California

Posted on February 25, 2012 in photo essays, travel tales

I am taking part in HostelBookers’ 7 super shots — an excellent idea that involves going through some of my favorite photos and telling their stories. They actually played this game a month ago, but I just found it, so I’m pretending it’s more recent. Here are mine:

A Shot That Takes My Breath Away
    Sunset from Venice

    Location: Venice
Story: We chased the sunset for several days before finding this perfect spot and this fiery setting.

A Shot That Makes Me Laugh/Smile

    Luna snow beard

    Location: Denver, Colorado
Story: During the first snow of the season, Luna took a few hours to frolic. I love the snow beard. It makes me giggle every time.

A Shot That Makes Me Dream
    Love

    Location: Coronado Island, California
Story: My best friend’s wedding was held in a garden overlooking the hotel and beach. It was absolutely lovely and love always makes me dream.

A Shot That Makes Me Think
    Watching the boats go out

    Location: Genova, Italy
Story: A beautiful woman stood on the pier and watched a ship sail away for a long, long time. I wondered who she was watching and what their story was, but didn’t intrude. Instead, I shot this photo.

A Shot That Makes My Mouth Water
    Cappucino

    Location: Padua, Italy
Story: Italian cappuccinos are one of my all-time favorite things. This one was sipped while watching the world go by with my best friend.

A Shot That Tells A Story
    Celebration

    Location: New York City
Story: A story of celebration, youth and excitement. I loved watching this girl celebrate, triumphant after winning some childhood game.

A Shot That I Am Proud Of
    Playing in the ocean

    Location: Coronado Island, California
Story: After the wedding photos on the beach, the bridesmaids frolicked in the ocean. This is what we call happiness.
