So, you’re looking for a house sitter? You might just be in luck. Luna and I are setting off around the world and looking for places to stay along the way. If you need someone to snuggle your puppies and water your plants while you’re on holiday, you should probably drop us a line.

    Some more info on us:

    My super awesome housesitting skills:
    - Keeping your house clean and organized
    - Working from home (and, thus, being there a lot of the time)
    - Maintaining a regular feeding/walking/snuggling schedule for your pets as needed
    - Taking high-quality photos of your pets and/or home if you want
    - Keeping you up-to-speed on your pets via email or blog

    Luna’s super awesome housesitting skills:
    - Giving your dogs an excellent workout by playing for hours
    - Being submissive and friendly with other animals
    - Giving cats a respectful distance (mostly because she’s scared of them)
    - Not soiling your house (and, once, teaching another person’s dog how to use the bathroom outside – this was one of her greatest triumphs!)
    - Snuggling with your puppies at night to keep them warm

Other stuff you may want to know about us:
    - English is my first language, but I can get by with Spanish or Italian
    - I do not smoke or do any drugs
    - Luna is a Schnauzer-Yorkie mix, which means she’s hypo-allergenic and doesn’t shed
    - Though she is not certified (because she hasn’t taken a test), Luna has been trained for therapy work and hopes to someday use those skills to work with victims of domestic violence

What other people have to say:

Emily C., Former Landlord & Roommate, Current Friend
“I have known Gigi for over four years, and lived with her for over a year. She is impeccable at organization, extremely reliable, and very personable. These qualities have allowed her to be very successful as the entrepreneur of her own business. You will be extremely happy to have her taking care of your home while you are away.”

    Lucy H., Friend, Petsitting Client
“Gigi is the best pet/house sitter around. Responsible, reliable and generally amazing!”

Tried and failed to post this comment yesterday, but for reasons that will be obvious, this page made me think of you! http://www.savvysugar.com/How-Travel-Living-21991201 (the page is being wonky, but the content is there)

Don’t tell Manfriend, but it makes me a wee bit nostalgic for being single;-)

You could always take Manfriend with you on adventures. Just look at the Hecktic Travels bloggers…they’re a married couple and have been traveling full-time for something like a year.

Oh I don’t mean to suggest couples can’t travel together! You actually turned me on to that blog Almost Fearless, where the couple travels with their infant, which is remarkable and full of amazing stories and photos:-) Manfriend is a good travel buddy, but he’s a bit more high maintenance – lots of arbitrary and nonsensical rules (no couchsurfing, no going to Africa unless it’s Egypt, etc.), and a few reasonable ones (continue being able to save aggressively for retirement, for example). Fortunately he appears to evolve at a fairly rapid pace (in the three years we’ve been together he’s gone from visiting zero foreign countries to visiting three) and thus manages to be date-able despite his silliness. I have high hopes for our future travel adventures, but in the meantime I occasionally like to lust after blogs full of tips on how to be a professional globe trotter while spending minimal money, paying minimal regard to safety precautions, and being minimally accountable to anyone but yourself (the last of which is the perennial advantage to being single).

    Fair. Fair.
