The hike from Grindelwald to First starts just a few steps from the train station. Walk toward town and watch for yellow hiking signs (that say First) on the left. They’ll direct you up the mountain, mostly following the cable car route. The route is very well marked and the only confusing spot is where a path splits off to the left and goes up toward a little house/cabin. Keep straight at that point (pictured in the third photo down).
Hiking time: 3.5 – 4 hours
Difficulty: moderate to hard
