A Day in Dinan (In Photos)

by Gigi Griffis

If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for pretty places.

There are a thousand different ways to travel. Some people love big, gritty cities like Naples or Prague. Others seek out hipster scenes in places like Berlin. Still others went to hole up in the desert in a tent for a week.

And there are lots of different things I love. But one of the things that almost every place I fall for has in common is this: it’s almost painfully pretty.

Which was why when we spent a month in Brittany, I knew I had to visit the town known as one of the prettiest in France.

Dinan.

Interestingly, Chad wasn’t as charmed as I was (“it’s very brown,” he commented, once again proving the point that pretty is still in the eye of the beholder). But I was charmed. Very much charmed.

I hope the photos do it justice.

If you’re heading to Dinan, I highly recommend lunch at La Fleur de Sel. Everything from the smoked butter to the perfectly puffed profiteroles stuffed with homemade ice cream was a dream. Best meal we had on this particular trip to France.

I’ve never heard of Dinan before but it is beautiful! I love that old world small village feel. Hope to visit one day!
