As you know, one of my travel priorities is staying in beautiful spaces. Spaces that inspire me. That comfort me at the end of a long day exploring a new place. That give me space to breathe, work, create, and be alone with my thoughts.
And, of course, the best of these beautiful rentals around the world, I share here with you.
Like the B&B where I spent my last night in Italy last week, which is one of the most beautiful, relaxing places I’ve ever stayed.
The B&B—Villino di Porporano—is about an hour outside Parma on foot (10 minutes by car) down a long, windy country road beside a stream. For me, the walk was a lovely experience, but if you aren’t big on long countryside walks (which don’t always have sidewalks), renting a car or taking a taxi (which costs about 15 euro) is a simple matter.
The grounds are lush and green and the terrace is the perfect place to curl up with a journal, a book, or a plate of the best B&B breakfast ever. (Seriously, I have never had such an amazing B&B breakfast; where other places offer a small spread of pastries and maybe some cereal, this wonderful little place adds fresh squeezed orange juice, professional-style cappuccinos, eggs, pancakes, prosciutto, caprese salad, and the most delicious breakfast cakes I’ve ever tasted.)
Happily, the rooms were just as lovely as the terrace, with lofty ceilings, bright interiors, and the coziest bed I’ve slept in all year.
But enough talk. The pictures tell the story better than I ever could…

My apologies! I thought it was on their website. I believe rooms start at 110 euro per night, including breakfast. And I should also mention there’s a pool available in the summer.
